Incident report

Not exactly a call-out in the true sense as this casualty came to us.

Team members were fundraising in Castleton when they were approached by a lady who had had an earlier accident whilst walking at Hollin’s Cross.  Initial first aid had been carried out by passing mountain bikers but the lady still had considerable pain in her upper and lower arm.  The injury was re-examined and further pain relief offered before appropriate splinting was applied.

Not being a life threatening injury an ambulance was not appropriate and so the casualty was taken to hospital by a family member.
