Incident report

Buxton Team called a point near to the confluence of the Highmoor Brook and Rabb Clough to assist in the evacuation of a 29 year old male from the Higher Sutton area. He was being treated by paramedics for chest injuries after he was thrown from his quad bike which ran away from him whilst he was gathering sheep and slipped down a steep grass slope overturning at the bottom and throwing him out. The North West Air Ambulance and a North West Ambulance Service Crew were in attendance but due to the potentially serious nature of his suspected injuries and the steep evacuation route from the accident site, an RAF Search and Rescue Sea King helicopter was requested enabling a winched evacuation from site. The casualty was flown direct to Wythenshaw Hospital, Manchester for further treatment.
